The European Leagues to hold its 50th General Assembly in Frankfurt, on 5-6 March 2025

The European Leagues will hold its 50th General Assembly, marking the 20th anniversary of the Association, on 5-6 March 2025 in Frankfurt, Germany. Hosted by the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga, the event will bring together representatives from all 40 member leagues, alongside executives from major football stakeholders, to celebrate two decades of collaboration.

This milestone event will not only reflect on 20 years of collective achievements but will also be a key moment for the future governance of the Association, as it marks the start of the next four-year cycle (2025-2029). During the General Assembly, a new president will be appointed, along with a newly composed Board of Directors.

Beyond the General Assembly, this gathering will hold special importance as we celebrate the European Leagues’ 20th anniversary since the formal creation of our Association by 14 founding leagues in 2005 in London. To mark this occasion, all our member leagues and representatives from the wider football stakeholder family will be present in Germany to honor the key role of domestic football in the professional game.

A Seminar Day, hosted by the DFB (Deutscher Fußball-Bund) at the state-of-the-art DFB Campus, will take place on Thursday, providing further opportunities for discussions, knowledge sharing, and engagement on key topics for professional football leagues across Europe. Sessions will cover the evolving media rights landscape and its impact on league strategies. Another key discussion will focus on combating digital piracy and enforcing intellectual property rights in sports broadcasting, with contributions from representatives of SROC. The day will also include an exclusive interview with Don Garber, Commissioner of Major League Soccer, who will share valuable perspectives on global league governance and strategic growth, among other topics.

The alumni of our ELEVATE educational program will also gather in Frankfurt to strengthen the network among league professionals across Europe.
