Pedro Proença chairs inaugural Board Meeting in Nyon as new President of the European Leagues

The European Leagues Board of Directors took place today in Nyon and was for the first time chaired by the President of Liga Portugal, Pedro Proença, who was appointed President of the Leagues’ Association at the recent General Assembly held on November 30.

On this occasion, the Leagues approved the new strategic agenda of the Association, with focus on the approval and implementation of the new Statutes of the European Leagues.

The European Leagues will play a key role in any relevant discussions impacting domestic competitions through an open and constructive dialogue with all football stakeholders, representing national associations, clubs, players and fans.

At the end of the meeting, Pedro Proença stated, “I believe this meeting represents the starting point of a new era for our Member Leagues. To stabilize the governance of our Association will allow us to protect and enhance the business model of domestic competition organizers while strengthening our position in the professional football stakeholders landscape
