48th European Leagues General Assembly scheduled for April 25-26, 2024, in London, England

The European Leagues Association is pleased to announce that its 48th General Assembly is set to take place on April 25-26, 2024, in London, England. Hosted by the Premier League, this major biannual event will gather representatives from our 40 member leagues across the continent, alongside distinguished guests from the football stakeholders’ family.

The General Assembly will span over two days, featuring seminars and visits to the Premier League’s production and VAR facilities. The event will conclude with the General Assembly session itself, which will be held on the morning of Friday, April 26th.

This two-day event, the first under the presidency of President Pedro Proença, will provide an opportunity to update European Leagues Members on Governance matters, as well as to discuss the latest developments in European Club football, both domestically and internationally.

President Pedro Proença stated,“In light of recent and significant events well known to everyone in the panorama of European football, the 48th General Assembly of the European Leagues arises within a historical context of great relevance for domestic leagues. The construction of a stronger European Leagues association is an endeavor that should involve all leagues, seeking to consolidate their actions alongside all partners who have been at the forefront of the unwavering defense of the European competitive model.

It is with this purpose in mind that, fulfilling an electoral promise of the current presidency, the leagues will seek consensus that may lead to the approval of a new governance model, providing the European Leagues with clearer, more agile, contemporary, and consistent functional mechanisms.

The General Assembly in London – with special thanks to the Premier League for hosting us during these days of intense work – should send a clear signal of the strength of domestic leagues in shaping the direction of our industry”.

The 48th General Assembly will be followed by a press conference on Friday morning. Media representatives interested in attending the press conference will receive invitations to register in the upcoming days.

Further details, as well as the agenda for the General Assembly, will be communicated in due course.
