The EPFL is gathering all its Associate Member Leagues as well as those Premier Leagues who run second divisions for a special Summit next Monday and Tuesday, 10 and 11 of June, in Venice, Italy. The event builds on the success of the inaugural EPFL – Associate Member Leagues Summit, which was held in London on October 2011.
Hosted by the Italian Lega Serie B, the Summit will count with the presence of Frédéric Thiriez, Chairman of the EPFL and President of the French League; Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, CEO of the EPFL; Andrea Abodi and Paolo Bedin, respectively President and General Manager of Lega Serie B; Carlos del Campo, Legal Director of the Spanish La Liga; Georg Pangl, CEO of the Austrian Bundesliga; Claus Thomsen, CEO of the Danish League; Mário Figueiredo, President of the Portuguese League; and Serge Rossmeils, CEO of the Dutch FBO, among many others prominent executives from the EPFL Leagues and Italian football authorities.
The two-days Summit shall foster a dynamic debate on a series of key issues, namely: common concerns and most pressing challenges facing non-premier leagues; how premier leagues run their second divisions; current competition formats; youth development policies and initiatives to develop and protect young players; as well as branding and commercial strategies to further develop the identity and positioning of non-premier league competitions.
The event shall be followed by a Press Conference, to be held on the 11th of June (12:00hs), at the NH Laguna Palace Hotel Mestre – Venezia. All Media wishing to attend the press conference are kindly invited to confirm their presence by Monday 10th of June, to firstname.lastname@example.org
