Representatives of EPFL, ECA, FIFPro Europe and UEFA gathered on 6 February 2014 in Brussels, Belgium, for the European Social Dialogue (ESD) Steering Group meeting, which was held under the auspices of the European Commission.
The EPFL was represented by UCPF CEO Philippe Diallo, DFL Director of Public Affairs and International Relations Holger Blask as well as Jair Bertoni and Ezéchiel Abatan from the EPFL Administration.
During the meeting, European stakeholders agreed on the main objectives of the Working Programme for 2014/2015. The Working Programme should now be drafted by UEFA with the social partners’ inputs in order to be submitted to the Professional Football Strategy Council (PFSC) on 10 March for final approval.
One of the main of the outcomes of the meeting was the common view that European social partners’ efforts should focus on the implementation of the Autonomous Agreement for the time being.
It was also agreed that the Working Group on Career Fund should hold before the end of the year two information-sharing meetings on good practices in tax and career facilities in European professional football and that the Working Group on Contractual Stability/Respect of Contract should now focus on the implementation of the decisions to be taken by the PFSC Working Group on Transfer Matters.
The next important event on the front of the European Social Dialogue in professional football should be the Working Group meetings to be held on 6 March in Brussels.Back to All News
