Following the successful inaugural edition, held in Edinburgh on past October, Amsterdam will host European leagues, clubs and finance key-note speakers for the second of a Cycle of Seminars on Good Financial Governance organised by the EPFL.
Co-organised by the Dutch Eredivisie, the event shall take place on next Tuesday 14 of May and shall focus on the following critical issues:
- the implementation of the UEFA Financial Fair Play rules;
- the implementation of centrally control measures to ensure clubs sustainability at league level;
- the existing economic gap between big and small leagues and clubs and their relevant financial control systems; and
- the fight against corruption and money laundering in football
The Seminar shall count with the presence of prominent football finance experts such as Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros (CEO of the EPFL); Frank Rutten (Chairman of the EPFL Committee on Professional Football Finance and CEO of the Erdivisie); Sébastien Cazali (Director of Finance of Ligue Professionnel de Football); Claudius Schäfer (CEO of the Swiss Football League); Valerio Casagrande (Finance Director of the Italian Lega Serie B); Claus Thomsen (CEO of the Danish Divisionsforeningen), Marco Brunelli (CEO of the Italian Lega Serie A); Chris Eaton (ICSS Director); Andrea Traverso (Head of Licensing UEFA); Emanuele Grasso (Financial Partner PwC); and Wouter van Zetten (Lawyer of AZ Alkmaar)
Culminating this cycle of seminars, the EPFL shall develop a set of Guidelines and Recommendations on Good Financial Governance, among other impacting initiatives.Back to All News
