EPFL has been officially admitted as member of the European Alcohol and Health Forum. The decision was taken by unanimity at its recent 5th Plenary Meeting held in Brussels, where the German Football League was also admitted as acting member.
As a result of this, great interest in developing a cooperative relationship with the EPFL has been promptly manifested by several major European umbrella organizations, whose members have commercial/sponsorship relations with our member and associate member Leagues, namely the ?European Sponsorship Association?1 and the ?Brewers of Europe?2.
Thanks to this important affiliation, the EPFL and its member Leagues will now be able to participate in this important Forum and directly voice their common concerns and views regarding a wide range of health and alcohol related policies and, most importantly, to directly intervene on the EU decision-making process regarding alcohol related sponsorship and advertisement, given its growing weight within football’s income sources.
