The promotion of training and education of young players and protection of training clubs are essential policies pursued by the EPFL and its member Leagues. With this objective in mind, the EPFL is organizing a high-level International Workshop on Youth Development, which will gather senior representatives and top experts from the European Leagues and clubs, such as Everton Football Club, Watford FC, AC Milan, Juventus FC, FC Lokomotiv Moscow, Le Mans FC, 1.FC K?ln, FC Augsburg, SK Rapid Wien, Wisla Krakow SA, Rangers FC and many others.
The event will take place in Liverpool at the Everton Football Academy, Finch Farm Training Complex (Finch Lane, Halewood, Merseyside, L26 3UE, United Kingdom), next Monday and Tuesday, 7-8 November 2011. It will be co-hosted by Everton Football Club and organised in joint collaboration with The Premier League and The Football League.
The EPFL International Workshop on Youth Development, which is currently in its second edition, is an important part of the EPFL’s rolling agenda to promote and safeguard football’s long term interest and future development, facilitating information and knowledge exchange and encouraging the implementation of the best practices on recruiting, training, education and protection of young players for the benefit of both Leagues and clubs.
Scouting, training and education of young players; certification of coaches and clubs’academies; measures to ensure proper protection of training clubs; mechanisms for the promotion of youth players and management of football centres of excellence are some of the vital issues that will be under focus during the two-day event, which will culminate with a guided tour to Everton Football Club youth academy.
