The EPFL, represented by the newly appointed Chairman Frédéric Thiriez and the Association’s CEO Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros attended the UEFA Champions League final played at Wembley Stadium, on Saturday 25 May 2013.

The final, won by FC Bayern Munich for the fifth time in a vibrant match against the national rival Borussia Dortmund, was the occasion to conclude an intensive working week in London highlighted by the UEFA Professional Football Strategy Council (PFSC) and the UEFA Congress. The first ever all German UCL final counted of course with the presence of Reinhard Rauball and Christian Seifert, respectively President and CEO of the Deutsche Fußballl Liga.

During this PFSC meeting, the EPFL was represented by the leagues’ members Frédéric Thiriez (EPFL and French LFP Chairman); Sergey Priadkyn (President of the Russian Football Premier League); Carlos del Campo (Director of Legal Affairs of the Spanish LFP) and Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros (EPFL CEO).

The PFSC comprises elected representatives of the four main stakeholder groups involved in European professional football: the leagues, via the European Professional Football Leagues (EPFL); the participating clubs in UEFA Club competitions, via the European Club Association (ECA); the players, via FIFPro Division Europe; and of course UEFA led by President Michel Platini.
