EPFL supports the European Week of Sport

The Association of European Professional Football Leagues (EPFL) is supporting for the third consecutive year the European Week of Sport campaign through a series of initiatives and activities of its Members Leagues.

The European Week of Sport is a truly European initiative run by the Sport Unit of the European Commission under the leadership of EU Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Tibor Navracsics. From 23-30 September, this campaign will span 32 countries and encourage millions of Europeans to get involved in physical activity.

With its wide range of members and global brands based in the EU, the EPFL represents the ideal platform to raise awareness and promote the values of sport across the continent. On occasion of the recent EPFL Board of Directors, hosted in Milan by the Italian Lega Serie B on the14th of September (picture enclosed), the European Leagues lead by the EPFL Chairman Lars-Christer Olsson had the opportunity to discuss this initiative and reinforce their commitment towards the campaign through the promotion of participation in sport and physical activity across Europe.

The EPFL believes that sport and football in particular bring a unique and positive contribution to our society through its capacity to enhance health while bringing people together. It is based on these values that during the week the Leagues will develop a range of different awareness initiatives in collaboration with their respective clubs and within their stadiums. By leveraging the reach and popularity of the most successful leagues in the world, the EPFL will help by sharing the key values of the European Week of Sport with millions of fans all over Europe.

The EPFL together with all European Leagues from countries belonging to the EU are official partners of the European Week of Sport and fully support this campaign.
